Connection circles

What happens at a circle

The last Tuesday of every month: a 90-minute online sharing circle on Zoom, facilitated by Max, with resources and support between sessions.

The shape of the evening

You join on Zoom. We settle, we agree the room (confidential, no fixing, you can pass), and then we share. There is structure so it does not become a free-for-all, and enough space that you are not performing. Traditional alpha-male or drill-sergeant groups are not for everyone — this is the other room.

  1. 01

    Arrive

Cameras on if you can; no dress code. First-timers are named and welcomed so you are not left guessing the rules.

  2. 02

    Check in

A simple round: how you are, really. Short is fine. Passing is fine.

  3. 03

    Share and listen

The middle of the circle is for what is actually going on — work, love, identity, the mask, the relief of dropping it. We listen more than we advise.

  4. 04

    Close

We land, we thank the room, and you leave with optional resources between sessions. Nothing you said leaves with anyone else.

  • Welcoming from the first night
  • Confidential — what is shared stays in the circle
  • You can pass on any question
  • Facilitated by Max, not a drill-sergeant format

FAQ

Before you join

What happens at a first circle?

You join on Zoom. First-timers are named and welcomed. We agree the room — confidential, no fixing, you can pass — then we check in and share. There is structure so it does not become a free-for-all, and enough space that you are not performing.

Is the circle confidential?

Yes. What is said in the circle stays in the circle, except where we must act to keep someone safe or to meet the law. You can pass on any question. Silence is allowed.

Is this therapy or a crisis service?

No. This is a facilitated peer circle, not therapy and not a crisis service. If you need urgent help, contact Samaritans on 116 123 or emergency services.

Is it a dating group?

No. Friends and community, not a dating cattle-call. Nobody gets a hard sell for a drink, a date, or a belief.
